Table of the World
Table of the World
My wife has recently joined as a financial adviser with an investment consulting firm. Yesterday, post dinner we were discussing how her initial days at the new workplace have been so far. She seemed a little anxious or may be dejected to some extent which was valid since shifting to a whole new state and working in a completely different work environment post marriage is not easy.
Any person who has been even in a slightly better position in his/her earlier days in life but obviously feels that life has may be slided down a step.
I was listening to her patiently and at the same time trying to calm her down. Just then, a self-calming theory which I had developed years ago during my CA Final exams clicked my mind.
I told her,
All of us are sitting on chairs around a round table in this world. On the table are various markings in front of each chair like 'Happiness' , 'Sadness'. 'Success', 'Failure', 'Anxiety', 'Excitement' etc etc.
Now what is life ?
Life is nothing but that constant chairs and constantly rotating table. So as the table keeps rotating, every chair gets a new marking every now and then. So, if against your chair you has the 'Happiness' marking earlier, now you might have some different marking, say 'Sadness', since the table is constantly rotating.
So, this implies that :
a. No phase is permanent in life.
b. You will soon go to a better phase in life.
c. But, the harsh fact is that better phase may also go away.
d. What remains with you and that you must always hold on to is the 'Hope' that 'Better days are almost here again'
